Most serious Christians would do anything God told them to do if they know for sure, it was God’s direction – if they heard Him with their natural ears or saw Him with their natural eyes.  But most of the time, God does not deal with you that way. 

He sent His Holy Spirit to live in your spirit to constantly teach, enlighten and guide you.  You must learn to know how to hear God in your spirit.  It comes in the form of a prompting, an impression, a thought, an inward witness a leading or an unction from within your spirit. God has good plan for His people but they are not walking in the plan because they do not know how to hear. Jesus said that He needed to go back to heaven so that the Holy Spirit can come and dwell in us individually to lead and guide us into God’s plan.

Let’s face it, we come face to face with truth but we’ll not face truth. God shows us what we should do but we don’t do it.  Why?  Because we don’t like it. It is inconvenient.  It costs us something. Facing truth is not an easy thing – Well, it is always easy for others but not for us.  We go to God with our plan and we want Him to work it out.  We need to go to God with His plan.  It will always work.  His plan is the best plan for us.
